Dhrit's tendency to listen to what others say so fully "He had no mind of his own...whoever spoke to him got his attention" makes him an adapter

Does everyone just know that Krishna is a god and are content to have him around and take his advice?

This dice game is insanely out of control. It's a back and forth of Yud listing more and more of his wealth to draw on, the other side matching it and promptly saying "I win". Yud is completely blind to what's happening because he's so caught up in it. What're his brothers doing this whole time?
Draupadi comes in clutch though, she calls them out for the whole thing

Finally the king randomly steps in and grants Draupadi her freedom and her husbands', per her request. Then he just says "Okay you can keep all your wealth, now leave" seemingly randomly. I'd be curious to know what is going through the king's mind this whole time

This king is seriously crazy. He reminds me of a Shakespearean character-I'm not sure who specifically but I feel like there are several to choose from

It's interesting to make the comparison between the exiles in this book vs the Ramayana- it was for similar times, with brothers and a wife, caused by members of their own family. And yet, the Pandevas seem more resigned and less happy about it, whereas this was at Rama's most selfless I feel like, and he took up his exile incredibly graciously. Draupadi also puts up with a lot less than Sita does I think--I like her.

I found Draupadi's religious/philosophical rant really interesting, and it felt like it didn't fit entirely with the rest of the book. It's location 1241 in my kindle.

It's interesting how much more present mantras are in this epic than in the last one. Gifts from the gods/their powers are invoked all the time, but in this story it happens a lot more through mantras.
