1
Understand the Mahabharata as a story about how karma happens- every event is about what happened before as well as what follows
Tells the story of Ganga drowning her 8 sons
I like the video style-it's fast-paced, but fun to watch the story visually unfold
2
How do you tame a river with arrows?
Devavrat was the name of the 8th son-that's Bhishma in the story I think
"time passed, as it always does"
3
Son wingmanning for his father-interesting dynamic
Then Devavrat swore to never marry (seriousness of this vow is alluded to here)
Oh now he's Bhishma "he of the terrible oath"
I thought he was required to be celibate not that he chose to be for his father, this is an interesting spin on it
If you had the ability to choose when your death would come would you take it?
4
Bhishma's a serious matchmaker- making oaths for his dad, kidnapping princesses for his half-brother
5
Oldest sister wanted to be with the one she loved, Bhishma allowed it but then the guy rejected her because she had been taken by another man--this is definitely a recurring event in the Epics, guys being weird about women who had been with someone else (even if they were kidnapped or didn't even do anything)
I like how much more they give to Amba's story and the setup for Bhishma's death later on in this.
6
"In their fears was the future of Hastinapura" That's a cool way to foreshadow it
They made the story of Vyasa's (I might've spelled that wrong) birth a lot more secret-love story and a lot less lacking of consent

7
Describes Dhrit as being strong and kind (and blind). Interesting considering how the story progresses
Now there are 3 contenders for the throne, and bitterness can arise.
8
That's some serious commitment to blindfold yourself to be with someone who's blind
I feel like it's more beneficial for both of them to have one of them with sight
