The Girl Monkey and the String of Pearls
Example of cleverness- tricking the monkey who stole the pearls into proudly displaying them

The 3 Fishes
I like that they were named Thoughtful, Very Thoughtful, and Thoughtless

The Tricky Wolf and the Rats
Similar to the Crane story but with a happier ending bc the Rats caught on. Weird that the Rat could just kill the Wolf though

The Woodpecker, Turtle, and Deer
Just 3 different friends workin together to save each other from a hunter

The Golden Goose
Aww, this one's sad. The Golden Goose was so nice, but the woman he gave his feathers to got greedy, and his feathers regrew to be white instead of golden

The Stupid Monkeys
Title fits pretty well. The monkeys were willing to be helpful but to give the right amount of water to the trees they pulled up all of their roots to see how much they needed. This could actually be a good basis for a story, because it's about having good intentions but executing them poorly, and something that looks like or could be justified as a good idea when just a little more thought would reveal that it just is not at all.

The Cunning Wolf
The wolf wasn't even cunning he was just skeptical of a person with a club playing dead and was smart enough to not get killed while checking to see if it was actually a trap or not

The Penny-Wise Monkey
This one's moral was so clearly stated: "To get more, I threw away what I had."

The Red-Bud Tree
This one was kind of dumb. They all went to see this specific tree but it looked different at every season. I guess the core message of it though is a good one and could be pulled out for a different context, because it's about not understanding how differently you can perceive things based on the context you're seeing it in compared to somebody else. Good reveal of narrow-mindedness
The brothers' 4 perspectives of the Tree (Pixabay)

The Woodpecker and the Lion
Interesting exploration into trust and selfishness. The Lion got something stuck in his throat, so the woodpecker got it out but with a safeguard so he didn't have to trust the Lion not to eat him. Then, when he wanted a favor in return, the Lion claimed it was enough of a favor to just not eat him. Gah people like that are the worst

The Otters and the Wolf
This one's a story of taking advantage of someone else's quarrel to come out on top
